Learn the basics about our center

Located at 318 5th St. SE (downtown Cedar Rapids), KidsPoint Downtown provides care to children from six weeks through preschool. The center operates Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 6 p.m. KidsPoint Downtown also offers school age care at select times.

Sparking educational growth through the Creative Curriculum®

The first five years of life are critical to later educational success, so KidsPoint Downtown strives to fill that time with enriching, engaging material from the Creative Curriculum®. Through exploration and exposure to a variety of topics, your child is prepared to confidently enter his or her later school years. 

Promoting a welcoming environment at our learning center and preschool

KidsPoint Downtown is designed for safety and convenience. Our learning center and preschool was built in 1999 and provides the following features:

  • Seven large classrooms that are clean and colorful and provide a fun atmosphere that makes learning fun!
  • Covered outdoor play area providing our children with the necessary boundaries to expand their mind and the freedom to explore with their imaginations.
  • Large indoor active play area providing protection from rain, snow, and heat.
  • Gross motor play is recommended at a minimum of one hour per day and our teachers have ample space between their classrooms, outdoor area, and indoor area to allow for this developmentally appropriate expression of fun!
  • Access to Green Square Park and Downtown Library!
  • Keypad entry system
